ABOUT US
MRC is a book club created by a group of 2nd of Batxillerat students and their English teacher.
We are an unusual book club, because we don't read books. We read short stories. Some of the stories are short short stories, some others are longer. There are no restrictions regarding the authors, the genres or the topics. However, the story is always online, free and legal.
When we meet we talk about the impact the story made on us, about literature. All communication is in English, but our meetings aren't English lessons. Language mistakes are not encouraged but they are largely tolerated..
MRC is open to anyone. Parents, English and non-English teachers, students, even people who are not related to the school are welcome. If you've read the story and want to share your thoughts, please join us! Bring an open mind!
Our meetings are on Mondays after school (from 2pm to 3pm) at the Manuela Barber Library (the school library at IES Madina Mayurqa). The dates of the meetings and the titles of the stories will be announced here at least a week in advance. The frequency of the meetings depends on several factors, such as the length and complexity of the short story chosen or the amount of exams of the MRC members.
